DevOps Engineer

Convoke, a leading SAAS technology provider in the Financial Oversight and Compliance market, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join its growing DevOps Team. Convoke secures business-to-business data and document exchange through a multi-tenant, SaaS application that provides durable storage, secure delivery, workflow management, and a comprehensive auditing platform. As part of the company’s Engineering team, reporting to the Director of DevOps, you will be responsible to implementing DevOps technologies that enable rapid development and deployment of new products and features.

Responsibilities

This position is focused on designing and implementing new tools and services that enable larger application development and product initiatives for Convoke’s SAAS platform. You will be a champion for the DevOps way of thinking. You will challenge old ways of doing things and cultivate a new mindset for flow, feedback, and experimentation throughout the organization. You will teach others how to leverage concepts like Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Deployment, and Test-Driven Development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, full stack development, or a related discipline. Typical experience profile might include a mix of programming, database administration, server configuration, virtualization, and containerization.

  • 3+ years of experience with DevOps-enablement technologies such as Chef, Puppet, Artifactory, Ansible and Jenkins.

  • Experience with automating developer workflows and building CI/CD pipelines for Node.js and React

  • Experience with modern product sets such as Node.js, React, NGINX, RabbitMQ, and Apache Kafka

  • You have a quantitative mindset; you use empirical data to support decisions.

  • You have a 4-year technical degree from an accredited university. (waived with sufficient work experience)

Pluses

  • Experience in a similar role in Financial Services, FinTech, or working with financial or account applications and data

  • Experience working at a SAAS product-centric company delivering new product releases in an agile environment

  • Experience with related technologies such as: Java, Node/React, NGINX, and Kafka

  • Experience working in audited environments with encrypted data and strong security controls and governance

  • Experience with products, applications, and tools that handle large volumes of transactional data
